This question may not have a specific answer but I thought I'd ask.

I've been here close to a week, having crossed over from Live365. I've uploaded plenty of songs to fuel my station & and have put together a good variety to make the station interesting. I have a website & have attempted to get my station listed on as many radio sites as possible. I've done everything that new stations are supposed to do.

Here's my problem: I'm still at 0 TLH. Zero. No one is listening. Not even a peak as far as I can tell. I could understand if people listened in & didn't like the station. But no one has even seemed to find the station at all. This early in the game I'm probably just expecting too much, too soon. However, I read about other new stations getting listeners very quickly & in large numbers.

So is it common for stations to take a long time to catch on? Is there a normal waiting period before you get listeners?

It all comes down to promotion. Just because you have a station setup, no matter what platform, doesn't mean people will listen. A website is number one in my opinion. Social media sites are next. Pick the social media platforms your potential listeners will frequent. Next is to get on some website forums/discussions that cater to your type of programming and talk your station up. Depending upon what your goals are, buying promotion is not out of the question. I have purchased Facebook adverts, Twitter Adverts, and Google AdWords to help me at times.

Just remember, people have so many options to hear music. What makes your station unique? Different music not heard elsewhere? Live shows that engage the listeners? Other programming that makes you a place people want to check out?

You have 3 months from your start date to get to 12 hours per day. This is only 30 minutes per hour on average. A few listeners every day will get you that level. Then you have 6 more months to hit the magical 130 hours per day. It can be done, even with highly niche streams. Knowing your audience, how to interact with them, motivate them to check you out, and self promotion.

Not every stream is successful, but you have to be creative enough to overcome the startup "blues."\

I went to your website and there's no mention of your station on Radionomy.com. Your main page also shows last updated in 2012..?

There is no place to tune to your station on your website. I see links for your podcast, but not your radio station.

If you're not even listening to your own station, I'm beginning to question your commitment to SparkleMotion. Can you even tell it's active?
