After an hour's silence, my station is back on, the bad news is that there is no twitter feed again.. Sorry for monitoring this, but as you can see I actually care about this. I know it "takes courage and work hard!" Please switch back the twitter feed, we need it!

Same here today.
My radio doesn't play on facebook or on my radionomy page (/playtheradio) .

I've searched for a solution for facebook, but then I realized the player itself (on radionomy "share" tab, where we get the code) was not playing either. So - i thought - iframing the player, no matter what app I use, will not do the job, because the problem IS the player. What to do? No idea.

It buffers, and buffers, and buffers and nothing happens. Maybe after 20 minutes like you said - that's ridiculous. Our listeners don't have to (can't!) wait that long, right?
If they click "play" and nothing happens for 10 seconds they'll quit and think "this radio sucks".
Bad bad image.

Suddenly, it started to work but only on radionomy page (/playtheradio) (20 minutes buffering?)
And then...It stuck in a song. I tried refreshing the page, resetting the schedule in the planner, nothing.
Then silence, and then it started playing again, but still not on facebook.
So I redirected people to the /playtheradio page hoping everything would be fine.

No. it's not playing again...anywhere. The PLAYER doesn't work properly, no matter where you embed it. It takes ages!!! to buffer. I can only listen my radio on radionomy>search> listen to this radio.

What can we do?

(update: suddenly it works - only on /playtheradio - however, if I stop, I have to refresh the page to listen again, because pausing leads to off)

Just to let you guys know - i'm currently working on coding a custom solution until radionomy fixes it.

Im calling the api (using the approved method) to get the latest played songs then using a script on my server to convert it to a valid rss file to feed into yahoo pipes. Pipes has the ability to strip only the first result and output a string of characters. this can then be sent straight to twitter.

Only problem is since i started working on this the API has started returning blank results. I'll investigate to see if that's my fault or radionomy have done something to break it.

This might not make much sense to any of you but the point is i'm working on it. Once i'm done i'll let you know where to get hold of the code and how to implement it.

Just to let everyone know: my daily hours have reached and surpassed the required daily amount during the time (approx 5 hours) when twitter feed was in fact fuly operational (with small errors: the text within the tweets is not perfect artistnames reach to song title word & song titles got playlist-names attached to them to absolutely no reason, all this causing unrecognition within each tweet). Feeding to twitter has stopped again and has not started ever since. I am sure that when radionomy counts average daily listening hours after 3 months of operation for each station they will not count in the days when they did not honour our user agreement by not providing full functionality to the site (ie twitter feeds). Thanks.

Twitter seems to be working now, thanks for fixing! :)

But there are no tweets when there are special characters in the artist name like "&". For example, a song by "Prince & The Revolution" is not tweeted, whereas a song by "Prince" is tweeted.

Ok - i've got it!

I've written a service to complete the api calls and post the info to twitter. In my opinion it works better than radionomy's does because it replaces the commas and '&' signs in the artist fields and hashtags multiple artists correctly - you can also add a custom link and text into the tweet.

Now then - options...

The code is quite complex - split into a few files, some that need server permissions changing, and requires a web server to host it on - and quite a few changes to the code to work with a station.
I can either:

Give out the code files and let you guys implement it yourselves.
OR
Build a little web service where you fill your details into a form and it outputs the xml link you need - hosted on my server.

If i were to take the second route and make it easy for you guys to just fill in your info, i would have to ask [EDIT]"your support"[/EDIT] in return to deal with the extra traffic to my server and the time to write the web service (i've spent a lot of hours on it already!).

Can i get a show of hands as to what people would find most useful?
