My audience is terribly inconstant, it's always extremely waxing and waning (and in most cases I don't know where they come from, only the country, there's no referrer in the stats for more than 90% of them). However, I noticed a disproportionately high number of listeners using MPlayer when the audience grows, mostly from the US. As far as I know, MPlayer is popular among Linux users given that it doesn't even have a graphic interface, it's a command-line player. Even MPlayer-based which does have an interface seems to be far from popular.
So, my question is: is Mplayer popular among your listeners too?

I've noticed it's about 3rd or 4th most popular. Besides Linux, or maybe because of Linux, it's used in a lot of Streaming Radios - devices like Grace Digital (which I have) and others. It's a guess, but they seem to listen for longer periods of time.

In addition, they seem to listen in clusters. Right now, I don't have a single listener using MPlayer, but sometimes it's the first player, ten times more users than the one ranked second.

BTW, do they left track of the referrer in your radio? I don't have a clue...
