While going through and re-organizing my boxes, I had put the dynamic boxes in the Music boxes section. I would like to be able to just; grab and drag the box to the correct heading, rather than, re-do them all.

Also, would love to see the platform to allow us to have 2-3 boxes (from each box set, or same; dynamic, Music and playlist) that we can open on the same page. This way we could drag songs in the correct list and in the correct order. It is so time consuming to drag them into the boxes, where they automatically fall to the bottom of the list, then have to go in and re-organize them every time.

another small suggestion

allow people using the 'contact' item on a radio's site fill in the 'subject' field themselves. at the moment it is set to default a subject line written in french, which isn't too useful for the rest of us.

I would love for the fillers to follow their box constraints

1 - Tag editing of Radionomy library tracks - whether it’s BPM (often doubled), wrong year, bad spelling (Jimi Hendricks), wrong “Instrumental” tags, or incorrect in/out speeds - we really need to be able to fix --or submit changes-- and have something updated on your end. This is BAD DATA which is making our programming rules break.

2 - Expose more programming rules. Currently we have boxes that can be restricted by time/day as well as artist/track repeat rates, and the system has some sort of tempo change rule built-in but no details exposed to us. I’d like to see an overall repeat rule (across all boxes), more detail exposed on tempo transitions, and the we should be able to write custom rules using custom tags or other available fields.

3 - Auto Beat Matching! At least attempt it, I know there’s DJ software that attempts it with ok results. Either a full crossfade or we could use a beat marker or a beat grid (like NI’s Traktor software) to help the play system rhythmically cue. Maybe there’s a way to manipulate current mix pointers to drop the song on the beat? We could also tag each track to attempt beat-match or not, so songs with no obvious rhythm intro will just fade in like now.

4 - Track-based Box assignment editing. From the song editor, assign or unassign boxes.

5 - Higher bitrate - possible? 128k doesn’t skip much but it sounds like putting a paper bag over my ears. I’d love to offer 320k, even 256k streams since my music features a wide dynamic range. Spotify is streaming at 320k and people are loving it.

6 - Play count per track. Simple play count is enough and I shouldn’t have to recreate the db locally to generate play stats. Play count per week/month would also be helpful. STATS REPORTING. I know reports come last in the dev cycle, so I'm patiently waiting for my play stats.

7 - Column picker and manipulation in Library List view. The track tables are where we do most of our clicking work, and the UI is pretty slick already. It can be improved by allowing column manipulation - Add/Remove columns, and resize columns. The find and sort features are perfect already. While you are in there how about better multi-select (drag?) and lose the wasted blue space on each side, we need the room for more columns of data.

8 - Allow search results to return multiple pages. I think this is broken - BUG?. Any track search I do that returns many results lists down to the middle of the alphabet (K or L or M) and then stops, no page 2, no next, no scroll for more results. It’s basically just dropping results and I’d like that fixed. It's forcing me to do more convoluted queries since it drops results.

9 - Some control over purchase links. I realize this could be a revenue point for Radionomy but I push listeners to purchase vinyl or HD Digital copies of the music played. If we could pick which stores for our country, or include our own purchase links for certain tracks that would be excellent.

10 - More duplicate buttons - Boxes, dynamic boxes, jingle boxes, promo boxes, wherever something has been user-built it should be able to be duplicated in the list.

OK let's get it done. I've been DJ'ing and programming everything from FM commercial to houseparties since way back and I think Radionomy is a hell of a good platform. I'd like to see growth here, and I to really grow listeners and take on traditional media we need all the programming tools we can muster.

i think that the problem of mixed tracks can be easily solved, with the integration of a similar system to that of mixcloud platform.

on mixcloud, currently the audio track are automatically recognized by the system, but before automate the system, the track list was compiled manually by the user.

be able to program the djset on radionomy, would be good thing.


a good idea would be the ability for the user to buy the track you hear on air, and of course, give a portion of the proceeds to the producer.

to start, you can affiliate on existing platforms such as (beatport, traxsouce, itunes) after possibly, Radionomy could handle direct sales.

I think that the problem of mixed tracks can be solved in two ways, by filling out the tracklist manually or with an automatic identification system of songs, both systems are used on the mixclud platform, and work properly.

We have already posted about this but we would like to see a relay station option to schedule programs and voicetrac play in order option. Thanks in advance.

ABSOLUTELY! ASCAP and BMI are in the business of making music through publishers and writers, and WE absolutely want access to their catalogs. As a broadcaster in 1998 and beyond, before Radionomy, We paid license fees to ASCAP and BMI and RIAA to be able to play music, it was our choice and our listener's preferences that DROVE who GOT paid, by the music selected. It's Radionomy's job to make as much of that content available through agreements with industry, for us to refine into what our listeners want to hear, and we are each unique.

In terms of the current arrangement, I completely understand the position of having an edge by maintaining music not readily available from the mainstream, and purchased music should be exclusive to the station bringing their resource to their audience. Opening that up could create chaos in terms of clutter for Radionomy over the long haul. I was fine with Radionomy keeping the music in the first agreement, like they really will erase it.... ok, so they say..., and it seems more fair to provide no-sharing of station provided program material, that just seems to make more sense to me. When the station goes away, the "records" belong to the station owner and they should be able to know, they walk away with purchased music and their asset is retained. By making music uploaded available to all, is clearly a violation of copyright, unless by arrangement with licensing agreement covering that specific work.

For the new interface, I like it - still think the all-in-one script approach is getting a little slow, and a more resourceful approach to the UI could speed up every aspect of the interaction. I just briefly glanced and made some simple changes, and the only thing I see missing on the boxes, is the individual 'delete' buttons that used to exist.

I love the wonderful things that Radionomy has done to the foundation of streaming 'netradio' and look forward to their growing with additional servers, and better revenue sharing plans will make their continued success even better. We as dedicated broadcasting professionals need to be reqarded, and will seek out our best partner in the 'delivery mechanism' to make our own success certain.

All the positions presented I read, have merit of one sort or another and it's great to see an open discussion among all. Regarding caps... should be easy to document if that is the case, the chart only shows X number and no higher, and an associated session capture of a refused session connection, perhaps with snap traces and session logs would demonstrate an issue of one sort or another. As it is, load balancers and network-adapter bonding, can facilitate very high aggregation of sessions distributed in a streaming farm. Of course, we understand core servers have programming limits, but as I read it from a Radionomy Product person, it is not the case that stations are capped.

As far as development is concerned:

It can be seen when an approach vis a vi Apple is taken and the developer is a dyed in the wool iOS or OS X user as well as a developer, at least to me. I see it beginning with a simple, follow the user everywhere to minimize the use of mouse to provide 'in-context' meaning to every movement, it's like an ALWAYS ACTIVE generate as many interrupts to the platform/app as possible mode. It appears to lead to a slower, less flexible interface. To me, Facebook was the first real MAC like interface in wide use, and many have followed. It is more than nice, when a developer can balance both form and feature with intelligent user expectations, such as, a user can tag using typical 'window-ed' like features, they are almost expected from working with spreadsheets to a variety of other list oriented tagging, of which there is much in dealing with lists of material.

It can make it difficult when a developer chooses to 'simplify' an interface and removes convenient and expected function in the sake of making it less confusing for a user. Quick shortcuts have benefited many highly popular, serious applications and attempts to 'dumb down' an APPlication tends to make it look more and more like a phone app.

It can be easy to do more complicated things, when the screen is not "all over your every movement' and backs off a bit, consider Twitter Web - nice interface and it's not focused on every move, which MUST take more resource than backing off, and letting the user direct the program with intent.

chillin fo now, and very happy the recently released and revised UI, even if it seems to lack a few features.
