I know this is a weird question but I'm trying to stop airing my station. I've deleted the clock, daily template and music files and my station is still on air. How do you get it to go to dead air without deleting it?

Thanks, Joe

Even when you delete it you won't get 'dead air'. Have fun with the rest of your life.

Joe, if there is no planning for a station, Radionomy fills the stream with some other station. After a while, for lack of listeners, it will be deleted.

Good thought but if you're not playing a file the encoder won't stay connected.

Another possibility, although there would still be the twice-hourly ad breaks, is to form a planning comprising of nothing but mp3s that are recordings of, well, nothing.

You can get these anti-noise mp3s at:

This would mostly do the purpose you are looking for. After a while, the station will indeed be deleted due to lack of listenership.

Remember, if you are playing nothing, you have zero listeners, no hours will be count, your station will be deleted by Radionomy, and there's no way back to the same radiostation-name ...

You could record a few files with a little noise -60dB (or so)
Upload and play them again again and again. :D
After a certain time, you will lose the station because you get too few hours of listening. (<130)

If you deleted your music files what's playing?

thebigjoe, if what you want is to delete your Radionomy stream once and for all, go to your Settings page and find the Delete link there.

If you're trying to silence it temporarily -- well, that won't work. As I understand it, if a producer stops producing - that is, doesn't generate planning - Radionomy fills that stream with another producer's program so it's not just a dead link. The stream would eventually be deleted, but it might take a while.

DCRock: It doesn't matter if thebigjoe deleted all his files, because someone else's program is now playing on his "channel" until it's deleted.
