Just received the following from Nobex concerning the apps for our streams.

Seems Nobex will be GeoBlocking ALL Radionomy apps in the USA.
The slide downhill continues.

I have the same issue.

First Itunes radio, then TuneIn, now Nobex.

This is beyond an outrage.

And no response from Radionomy as to if and when this will be fixed. I can't imagine advertisers sticking with this.

Is this a valid business model?

I just got the same message.
Was acting cool so far waiting for good news and solutions, but now I started to get worried to say at least.
At the yesterday's annoucement, there is no mention that we'll be blocked in USA, it just confirm we're blocked on TuneIn.
Now, it seems we're down also on mytuner.

This is unbelievable.
I better start to look for another stream service...
Suggestions?!
A.

I can confirm that this is now happening for both of my stations.

Streaming radio is the new "home taping."

I have decided to remove three of my five streams here at Radionomy. No point in trying to keep them going with these events. These streams were above the 130hour/day mark, but have fallen significantly in the past week.

At this point I don't even think the people at Radionomy care if they get ANY listeners from the USA because of the costs involved. Don't blame Radionomy, blame the USA Government for being in the pockets of the big music companies.

Anyway, I will hang on with my remaining two streams for as long as I can. I don't believe I will be able to go "legit" if Radionomy fails in its negotiations with the royalties in the US. The cost is so far beyond "just being a hobby."

Andersons,

There is nothing else out there like Radionomy. With all of the other services, you are responsible for paying royalties which, at least in the U.S., are a minimum of $1000 per year and usually considerably higher.

I understand you.

My station is still online. But since there are these kind of issues, there's no motivation to add new songs or to spend time and money on new jingles. It feels useless. When (at a certain moment) there's a steady future for Radionomy, I possibly will resume changing things to my station, but at the moment everything is 'on hold'. In the meanwhile, I just hope to keep +130 hours with the current structure, database and jingle package.

But I've already noticed losing much of my audience last week.

Confirmed. Both of my Nobex apps say "Failed to retrieve audio stream". This happened some time in the last four hours. Didn't get an email from Nobex though.

Yes, no e-mail here either, but I get the same message. Doh, another one bites the dust. What's next, complete geoblocking via any means??
