I think it's simply a clumsy translation. "Droits de diffusion" in French clearly means royalties. It translates word for word as broadcasting rights. Diffusion is a term that means broadcasting in the largest sense, meaning sending a message to a large audience.

again that is only guess work on your part, and thats the thing, '' I think'' wont help anyone in a court of law should it mean that we are responsible for Royalties but haven't paid them because we THOUGHT the wording meant something else.

I wrote this on the FB producers page, but fear it may have been lost due to a lot infighting so i am repeating it here, slightly edited..

when something can be as easily fixed as this, IE a simple line to the Producers but isn't, then poor communication changes from the usual inept fumbling we are used to , into something deliberately worded to be vague and ambiguous.

I think, as harsh as it may sound, producers are taking the wording to mean radionomy covers them, simply because its easier and nicer for them to believe that, but the fact is, all i see here, pro and con this section is guesswork, educated, well thought out but still guesswork, because the wording is such, that its all it can be.

Some may find that acceptable, after all we all want to be positive and we all want to just get back to work, but surely guesswork isn't an acceptable level when it comes to legal matters like this.?Radionomy are the only ones who know exactly what their paragraph means, any other company would have answered and cleared up this question, the very 1st time it was asked.. you know that in your heart of hearts.. but we all want to get back to work, so we all just accept it ?

Asking questions like these and wanting clarification on such an issue, is not equivalent to blind panic, or even causing trouble for the sake of it, or banging on the table, and so on and so on, It gets a bit much that every time someone wants questions answers they are seen as losing control, or incapable of calm reasoned thought (IE panic) or they are pictured as angry men banging their shoes and smashing glasses. Why the over reaction, and equating asking a question with panic? Again maybe because by asking the question it allows everyone just a little less leeway to simply accept poor communication or business behavior, and just carry on, which of course is what we all would prefer to do..

A message to Domi - why do you only answer some questions and not others....I appreciate all the work you are doing / have done but as a "face/name" representing Radionomy you must appreciate the concerns we all have and the questions we are asking of you and Radionomy ?

I suspect that the lawyers are not allowing much free commenting from the admins at the moment.

Possibly but we as producers are vital (stating the obvious I know but...) to Radionomy - therefore they should at least acknowledge our concerns. Remember we were promised "a big announcement" 2/3 weeks ago.. All we have officially been told until the release of this new pact was that some countries were Geoblocked !

Respect should be given to us as a matter of course - communicating properly costs nothing...

Hello,

The term "broadcasting rights" includes copyright and related rights (neighbouring rights), it is a clarification of what existed in the previous version.
