It's somewhere in the Producers Agreement that when you sign up your name belongs to Radionomy.

You won’t lose your name, you can set up anywhere

I’m contemplating closing, not at the end of December but now. I just feel it’s not worth the hassle. Sonixcast looks my best bet but reading their Facebook page it’s a horror show of poor management.

the name on Radionomy belongs to Radionomy, the name itself of my channel is my registered trademark, I can move elsewhere taking it with me;
Jeff, just wait a minute, take the time to explore further alternatives; a guy wrote me suggesting ZenoRadio, I am quite sure they don't handle rights, however I dropped them a line asking about that;
an alternative is taking far more time, i.e. moving the channel to Shoutcast, playing a loop informing that the channel is not active at the moment, and having one whole year to tinker about a solution; I am considering this possibility too;
A.

in Italy, rights are not that expensive, you should pay about 70 eur / month, SIAE + SCF; at SCF they are quite friendly;
if you have listeners enough you can get from Shoutcast 20-40 euro back, there is a very little danger that SCF sees you are earning some money thus considering your channel as a commercial one;
to appreciate the good Italian situation, think that here in Germany I should pay 0,12 eruo for each song I copy from my CD to my hard disk, every year + at least 120 euro rights, monthly (of course Germany only, and Italy only in your case); moving my radio to Italy is one of my possible choices; sure, it would be strange reading on the website that "Seventies Berlin" is somewhere near Belluno or Bari;
