Paying royalties is certainly a cost relating to broadcasting rights. Sure looks like they're covered.

Broadcasting rights is not the same thing as royalty/Copyright payments; the first is usually taken to mean you have the right to broadcast a show that is exclusively yours.. its a term mostly used in sports broadcasts: for example, one station has the right to broadcast the world cup, while others do not.. i am starting to think that the wording here is deliberately misleading

again only RN management in a matter of seconds can clear this up in a totally unambiguous way.. everything else is guess work

I'm right with NBT on this - someone needs to get radionomy to add a clarification of this phrase. It should be relatively easy to ask the radionomy/Vivendi lawyers to clarify the term in an unambiguous way, and to add that into the Producer Pact.

Note that most other agreements/ToCs/contracts go to great length to define the terms used in an unambiguous way. The Producer Pact has a very brief Definitions section at the front - it would be best to add a full definition of "Broadcasting Rights" and any other terms that may be ambiguous in there.

for what it's worth, they still have this on the Radionomy website...

"Music Licensing Coverage
We have got you covered. We cover all the music licensing necessary to stream online. You just program the music and content you love."
https://www.radionomy.com/en/static/produce

you would think if they are no longer covering music rights fees, they would get that off a page viewable by the general public. and by the rights agencies.

if they pull that statement off their website, then you'll know things have changed.

sadly i think that is there because of general incompetence , after their intro page is STILL encouraging users to open a one artist radio station even though it is clearly now against RN rules.. the people that have ''control'' over the website seem to have no actual contact with the people in the so called team.. its ludicrous i know but its how its seems to work here..

But now they've been alerted to it I'm sure their legal people would tell them if they were concerned it gave the wrong impression. :)

correct, this is a question that is very easily answered and an issue that is very easily fixed, its also an issue that i cannot think of any reason, why RN would NOT want it fixed, unless it wanted to fool producers in some way, and surely that cannot be their motivation.. since even bring out a new pact implies that they wish to continue this project, why derail it with unclear language which leads to mistrust and unease?

we will have to wait and see :P after all you think they would have been alerted to the one artist station thing or promoting Sony Artists on their Facebook page by now too, perhaps the PR staff never came back from that long weekend

But to entities like SX and CRB there's a big difference between broadcasting and webcasting. Of course, what you and I call a radio is usually not the same as a station. :?

If you google broadcasting rights, it's not even really a term. Only results I find is a few vague references to the Olympics.
