........ shame Radionomy doesn't.

I'd like to congratulate KawaiiOfficial, J-Pop Project Radio, Japan Station, SequelMJHR, J1 Radio, et al... for running such entertaining and fantastically diverse J-Pop stations that were immensely popular with the Japanese audience. Radionomy has handed those listeners over to the competition now as its network continues to diminish. Good luck to all the producers finding their way after being shut out of their core audience. Radionomy doesn't deserve you anyway. You're all way too good for them.

It's better to do it that way than to shut down entirely. Even on the German market, there's nothing better than Radionomy. We have a competitor, yes, but you can only get there when they accept your application, that is, they approve your concept. Plus, as far as I know, their streams are geoblocked in the sense that they aren't available to any country OUTSIDE Germany.

Yeah, I may as well just close the door. Japan is my core, now it is geoblocked. I dropped 70-80% of my listener hours overnight (700+ hours per day to less than 150 hours per day) and I don't expect to ever get it back here on Radionomy. One thing I had always done is every week to offer up the new releases of music for my format. Because of this situation I see no desire to do ANYTHING to promote these streams.

/rant on

Radionomy wants us Producers to pull in as large an audience as possible. But then because they decided for themselves to buck current regulations instead of working to change them in a professional manner, the Producers and even the listeners, get the shaft. Not only that but the Radionomy staff is so cowardly they won't even come out with any concrete information. They hide behind their desks, basically afraid of what they have created. It seems they are embarrassed to confront the people who supply Radionomy with the advertising and promotion for their platform.

If the ship is sinking, tell us.
If changes are coming, let us know things will be changing.
If you are geoblocking countries, list them and explain why
If you are just plain incompetent, pray for your legal lives.

I refuse to be associated with such a shady, unprofessional organization. I give the Radionomy CEO until the end of this week to explain themselves to us Producers. If I hear/read nothing, then they get nothing more from me.

comparing bad behavior to OTHER bad behavior does not not make it some how more acceptable. Radionomy is owned by a multi billion dollar media giant, so there is hardly a need to shut down entirely unless, they just wanted that to happen. Even if what they had done was some how acceptable (hint it isn't) the way they went about it can never be excused, no matter how many examples you pull up of other companies behaving badly

add to that

Are you paying royalties now to the countries you deem some how worthy to stay and IF you are NOT; tell us and explain why.

Ok, but if you can only choose between AIDS and a broken leg, I prefer the broken leg. A broken leg can be healed, AIDS (so far) can't.

As I read these forums, Everyone wants Radionomy to give them some kind of explanation of what's going on, Producers, you can clearly see what's going on because of Radionomy not paying proper royalties their broadcast is being blocked in countries where they haven't paid or even do not plans to pay royalties, The moves they are making is to salvage what they can of their company and since this service is free for producers they really don't owe us any explanation, otherwise they would have given us one by now, I suggest producers just ride it out and see if possibly you can continue enjoying this free service, if not then its time to move on and find another service to broadcast your streams, Radionomy could really care less about the whining that's going on on these forums, they have bigger problems they are currently facing.

wow! all their self inflected problems you mean? a bunch of us are thinking of setting up a virtual 'swear jar' sort of thing where every person who comes up with the absurd its 'free' misguided logic has to donate a $ to a Christmas party or something. I have to admit i still get surprised by producers, in the face of radionomy treating producers like the dirt on their shoes, STILL feel the need to jump up and defend them. Very weird. but by all means do carry on lecturing the people that are busy losing their radios due the latest mess up, if it fulfills some need, its all good.
