Looks good but I see nothing there about licensing. How are you handling that?

I've now moved over to TorontoCast, and feeling pretty good about it. Their support is excellent. I have the pop-up player and widgets on my station page and I'm seeing good listener numbers (for Fusion 101, that is). So, I'm shutting down my Shoutcast station (I moved from radionomy on their one-year-free offer) in just a few days.

Looks good. I'm doing about the same, but skipping the "migrate to Shoutcast" step. Slowly my Radionomy listeners are finding the new Instrumental Breezes. I may add an ID/jingle on Radionomy towards the end of May.
(Caution - shameless plug alert) http://instrumentalbreezes.torontocast.stream 8-)

I contacted TorontoCast and their SOCAN license only covers Canada. They offer no other licensing for the USA and beyond. Even though they don't geoblock streaming to other countries outside Canada, it would seem risky to broadcast into the US from CAN without proper licenses.. you could be vulnerable to fines. If you feel confident about using this service to stream outside CANADA... please get in touch, I'd like to know your thoughts.

Not really. It's Torontocast's stream, and they've said they've never had an issue with station heard in the US. The worse they can do is geoblock the US, but it's not happened yet to any of their stations, and, fingers crossed,it won't happen anytime soon.

I've got about half of my music moved over to TorontoCast, Nobex apps switched to the new streams and are working great. Just put a couple of landing pages up on my TorontoCast subdomains:
http://CelticTradRadio.torontocast.stream
http://CelticSongstressRadio.torontocast.stream
and everything is going great! I'll be redirecting my domains to their new home in Canada soon, and pulling the plug on Radionomy.

Good luck to all!

Larry

I'm lucky I don't need it as I play unsigned bands and they send me the stuff for airplay. You will have to pay your for your licensing
